An introduction to the Aether Salon (declaration of intent to rouse rabble)

Aether Salon of Babbage

Purpose: To bring together people for the free exchange of ideas, information, and what have you. Ideas will be put forward, and in many cases, celebrated. For some, there will be great debate, and then tea.

Rules of engagement: Topics are always open for discussion, elaboration, praise, and skewering. In general, we ask that proper etiquette is maintained. Wit is of the utmost importance.

Participants need not participate: listening, lurking, and lollygagging is also welcome. However, should you have an Idea or a Thought, please put it forward.

Schedule: Monthly, at teatime (SLT 17:00) for approximately 45 minutes to 1 hr.Location: Aether Salon, Babbage Palisade (97, 59, 105).

Monthly topics will rotate in this or similar order: literature, adventure, issues, and inventions. These to include steampunkery, expeditionation, didacticism, and mysteries at all stages of solution. Authors from throughout the era, as brought to us by the Babbage Library.

First Salon Date: Oct. 11 or 12 – to be announced.
